Photo Diary: Sight Unseen

This past week was a stressful one, so Chris and I decided to go eat at our favourite Japanese restaurant and explore the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

On our first date, we went to this restaurant Dwarf no Cachette. So whenever we have a stressful week (or when we’re just craving japanese food.. which is almost always), we default to Dwarf. Even the waitress knows who we are and what we want to order!

Takoyaki (Octopus wheat balls) – I was hesitant at first to try it but Chris made me!
Pork Katsu Don – deep fried pork, egg, onions on top of rice. MY FAVOURITE!

We’ve been wanting to see the exhibit Sight Unseen for so long! So after lunch, we walked across the Provencher bridge and headed to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

This exhibit was so special, as it displayed the beautiful works of the visually impaired. It was so amazing to see this exhibit – you understand that blind people see our world in ways that sighted people cannot.

One of the best parts to the exhibit – Pete Eckert shows how he uses lights to build what he sees in his own mind.

“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.”
