Road trips – a fun getaway that’ll save you some cash-ola instead of buying a roundtrip ticket. Now, obviously that depends on where you’re planning on going and how far it is from where you live. But at least you have your own method of transportation while touring around!
My boyfriend Chris and I travelled just about 8 hours to Minnesota from Winnipeg. First stop – Albertville Premium Outlets. Second stop – Mall of America.. obviously.
But besides the brand name stores and restaurant branches, we look forward to the local spots the most. Our favourite breakfast spot was The French Hen Cafe. Amazing food and service. It’s sister flower shop Fleur de lis is connected to the restaurant so you can grab a bite to eat before or after smelling the gorgeous flowers.
Down the same street are other shops and places to eat that are worth stopping by in.
And of course Minnehaha park was a great place to spend the afternoon – bike trails and the unforgettable Minnehaha park water fall. Just be sure you don’t get caught by the park’s security for going too close!
