Weekend shenanigans

I’m sitting on the couch watching Mrs. Doubtfire, one of my favourite movies of all time and all I keep thinking about is: Is the long weekend over already?? I do enjoy my job, but I’d LOVE another extra day off. Come on, who else is thinking the same thing?

FRIDAY: Good Friday! AKA, no work. AKA, sleeping in. AKA, go to church. AKA, at home spa day.

My mom is a very religious and superstitious woman (God bless her soul). Growing up, I’ve had to obey all the do’s and don’ts of my mom’s beliefs – especially on Good Friday. I won’t talk about the things she’d prevent me and my brother and sisters from doing because it may sound crazy to many. But chilling out and doing pretty much nothing is still a “yes please” to me! So besides drinking coffee and watching the Ten Commandments, I had a mini spa day in my apartment – baths, facials, manicure, etc etc.

I’ve been using Biore’s nose strips for a while now. I’ve suffered from blackheads ever since I can remember and I’ve never actually done anything about it, until I discovered my brother’s own stash of nose strips (hiding behind multiple toiletries at the very back of the bottom shelf in the bathroom). Naturally, I snuck one and tried it out myself – it sounds super gross but my blackheads are a magnet to these strips! After use, my skin feels fresh, clean and free of.. well, blackheads.

Is there anyone who doesn’t like face masks? What’s not to love? I have a thing for sheet masks since they’re a quick and easy placement and removal. I grabbed this tea tree mask by Naisture while at Marshall’s – it’s neither horrible or amazing. Nonetheless, it left my face glowing, calm and soothing (just as it claims!)

I swear my forehead isn’t that big -_-“

SATURDAY: Birthday party!

Ever look into your closet full of clothes and still claim that you have nothing to wear? Well I’ve been guilty of that countless times. BFF to the rescue!

Meet the best friend – Anjelica (this won’t be the last you hear of her!)

A popular trend – off the shoulder tops. They’re everywhere! Both of these are from Forever 21 and both belong to the BFF 🙂 Thanks babe.

It’s Chris’ sister’s birthday weekend. Saturday night = party time. We pre-partied before the actual party 😉

Since we were kids, we’ve had a tendency to match!
Can’t forget this cutie <3 His pocketed white tee – H&M

SUNDAY: Easter

We didn’t do anything festive for Easter, but we did treat Chris’ family out for dinner. It was gloomy out but not too shabby for sandals! We went to a korean barbecue and sushi bistro, IGI, and OMG so good! Everyone knows it is no joke when I eat there – so wearing stretchy pants just makes sense!

turtle neck – Forever 21, tapered pants – Wilfred from Artizia, caged sandals – Fergalicious from The Bay

That’s all for now. Have a great week!

xoxo,
Alyssa
